Unpopular opinion:
Raise your hand if you share my unpopular opinion that family life is closer to where it was always meant to be? (Disclaimer: yes, the virus is awful, families are struggling with homeschool, work/life balance is difficult, jobs are lost, a billion things are harder – all true, fully acknowledged and personally experienced.)
H O W E V E R…
I fully cherish and appreciate the slower pace of this new simplified life, rooted in what matters most.
And I *thought* I had a handle on it… then. But I could only do so much in my own power, with my own family. We didn’t even scratch the surface to realize our full potential in what a simplified life looked like fully immersed in a simplified community.
It took my family a few weeks to detox from our old life. And when we finally settled into our new life we quickly appreciated the gift of time it afforded us. Without comparison or sacrifice to the life we might be missing out on if it were just us making the choice against the tide.
As we all come out of hibernation and re-enter into whatever the “new normal” is going to be, I hope I’m not the only one with this mindset. I want to cling to the simplified life through the new normal and participate in redefining a simplified community.
For my portrait photography, it looks like a new service: Simplified Portraits – For those looking for a simplified approach to portrait photography, but with the same personal service and artistry as our tangible collections. Read more about that here: https://bit.ly/AUPinfo
